Speaker 1:

Hey, hey, family, it's your boy, daniel Nelson, aka Da Bud, and welcome to another episode of Absolutely Focused Radio Podcast. First off, let me say this I love you. You can do this. Stay focused and remember you're not doing this for someone else's happiness, you're doing it for you. Today's episode is hitting deep.

Speaker 1:

This time of year is full of joy, laughter and togetherness, but for some, it's also full of challenges. If you're fighting to stay sober, you already know that this holiday season can feel like a battlefield. Thanksgiving parties, christmas gatherings and those after work celebrations can test your limits in ways you don't even see coming. Let's dive in. Let's talk about the hidden struggles of the season, the toll it takes and the power you have to overcome it all. Let me ask you this Doesn't it suck to wake up the morning after a party and not remember what happened? Or, worse, to hear from other people about what you said or did, those moments where you wish you could go back and undo the night? It's not Just embarrassing, it's heartbreaking. If you're sitting here, listening, thinking about this, it's because you want to change, and that's powerful. That's your inner voice saying enough is enough. So why are you hurting yourself? Why do you keep doing this to your body, your mind and your relationships.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about blackouts. It's not just about drinking too much. It's what happens when alcohol takes over your brain. Your hippocampus, the part of your brain responsible for memory, literally stops working. Stops working. According to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, just five or six drinks in under two hours can cause a blackout. And here's the thing blackouts aren't just one-time mistakes. If you had them before, you're much likely to experience them again Now. Think about this If you're hitting multiple parties in one week, drinking every night, your body doesn't have time to recover. Alcohol can stay in your system for up to 72 hours, so that one drink from Monday's party, it's still lingering when you pick up a glass on Thursday's event. What does that mean for your body, for your judgment, for your ability to even enjoy the holidays? It means you're putting your health, your energy and your future on the line. And let's not forget the relationships that matter to you. Imagine losing someone's trust because of something you don't even remember doing. Imagine missing out on meaningful connections because you were too foggy to be fully present.

Speaker 1:

Now here's the truth. You deserve better. You deserve to wake up clear headed, knowing you made choices that align with the life you want to live. You deserve to look in the mirror and feel proud of yourself, not just saying no to a drink, but for saying yes to yourself. And if you think you can't do it, let me remind you you can't do it. Let me remind you you can. You're stronger than this struggle and you're worth the fight.

Speaker 1:

It's not about perfection. It's about progress. It's about choosing to say say not today, not anymore. So here's my challenge to you this holiday season say no, say no to the drink, no to the mask, no to the mask, no to the regrets. No-transcript. Say yes to living a life where you don't have to guess what happened the night before. If you're struggling, reach out. You're not alone in this journey. There's a community of people who've been where you are and they've made it through. You can, too, and remember this you're doing this for you, not for someone else's happiness. Not for someone else's happiness, but for your own. Love yourself enough to make the hard choice, because you're worth it. Always as always, I'm Daniel Nelson, aka the Bud, reminding you to stay focused and absolutely committed to being your best self. I love you. You got this. Stay absolutely focused.
