Speaker 1:

Hello everyone, this is Daniel, the Bud Nelson, and you're listening to Absolutely Focused Radio. Today's episode is about resilience, hope and facing those silent battles we carry within. I want to talk to you about sobriety, yes, but also the unseen struggles that come with it, the shadows of addiction, depression and sometimes the subtle ways people in our lives hold us back. Imagine standing in a forest so thick Every step feels like moving through molasses. The trees tower above the branches, blocking out the light. Each shadow presses in on you, heavy as midnight. But those of us on the journey of recovery, this is what most of the days feel like Moving forward one step at a time, in the dark, without a clear path. But just because it's dark doesn't mean you don't see anything. Anything. There are glimmers, tiny sparks of hope, moments of resilience, a strength inside that whispers keep going. I remember days when sobriety felt like trying to fix a shattered mirror. Every piece reflected a part of myself I didn't want to see, but I knew that putting it together was the only way forward. Each sober day felt like fitting one more shard into place, even when my hands were bleeding from the effort.

Speaker 1:

Recovery isn't just the absence of addiction. It's about finding strength in the brokenness. There's another layer many of us deal with that often goes unspoken the silent attacks from those who claim to support us. Imagine someone in your life who seems helpful on the surface but suddenly chips away at your self-worth. They act supportive, but every word, every action feels like an anchor holding you back. Have you ever fought for something that felt so real, only to wonder if it's an illusion? Have you ever had someone in your life who seemed to support you but left you questioning yourself with every word For anyone nodding? Right now I want you to know you're not alone. Picture your mind as a finely tuned instrument, every string in perfect harmony. Addiction is rust creeping in, unbalancing every note, slowing everything down. Sobriety, well, sobriety, well. Sobriety is the slow, careful work of cleaning that rust, one day at a time, restoring each string, each note to its pure sound. It's work that takes patience and it's work that's pure sound. It's work that takes patience and it's work that's worth it.

Speaker 1:

As a parent, recovery is a journey I walk, not only for myself but for my kids. Every moment of kindness is a gift, slipped in without drawing too much attention, because sometimes those closest to you react harshly to even your kindness, but those little moments of love, they're seeds of strength. My kids may not fully understand now, but one day they'll see. So, to anyone's listening, if you've taken even one small step forward, I want you to know it matters, you matter. Every step forward is a light breaking through, a testament to your resilience. And if today all you managed was to sit with these words, that's enough. That's a step. You're not alone on this path. Thank you for joining me today on Absolutely Focused Radio. Remember to stay awesome, stay focused and blessed Until next time. Hold on to your light, my friend, and let it guide you forward.
