Speaker 1:

Ladies and gentlemen, today I want to talk about something that has the power to transform lives the choice for sobriety, the choice for freedom and the strength to set boundaries that protect our peace. There's a passage from Deuteronomy 28 that speaks about blessings and curses how blessings follow those who walk the right path, how pain followed those who turn away from what's right. That passage isn't just about faith, it's about life. It's about the choices we make, the behaviors we allow and the actions we take to protect ourselves from cycles of destruction. Sobriety is one of the most profound examples of this truth. Choosing sobriety is choosing life, choosing clarity, choosing freedom. But here's the thing sobriety isn't just about putting down the bottle or turning away from a substance. It's about putting down toxic patterns, toxic people, toxic thinking. It's about standing firm, drawing boundaries and refusing to be caught up in cycles of manipulation, confusion and self-destruction. You see, for many of us, addiction wasn't about the substance. It was about filling a void, escaping pain or numbing ourselves from the harsh realities we didn't want to face. It was about letting others dictate our worth, our boundaries. But when we choose sobriety, we're saying no more. No more running, no more hiding, no more living in the fog. We choose clarity, we choose freedom, and that starts by setting firm boundaries in our lives.

Speaker 1:

Now here's the tough part. There will be people in your life who won't understand your journey. They might even try to pull you back into old patterns. They may use manipulation, guilt or confusion to keep you from moving forward. But, just like Deuteronomy 28 reminds us, the path of the blessing requires us to stay true to what is right, no matter how hard it feels. We must say to those people I will no longer allow myself to be part of the fog. I refuse to be manipulated or confused. I will no longer engage in destructive cycles. That's the power of boundaries. And boundaries aren't just walls. They are the doors that protect your peace, your progress and your sobriety.

Speaker 1:

There comes a point where you have to look at the people, the patterns and the habits in your life and say if you're not for my healing, you're not for me, if you can't respect my growth, then I have to step back. You owe that to yourself. You owe that to your sobriety, because sobriety is sacred. It's your rebirth, it's your blessing.

Speaker 1:

We all have a choice in life. We can choose the curse of addiction, of manipulation, of toxicity, or we can choose the curse of addiction, of manipulation, of toxicity, or we can choose the blessings of clarity, peace and purpose. The blessing comes when we stop running from the truth, when we stop allowing others to write the narratives of our lives and when we reclaim our power. So today, I urge you choose your peace, choose your sobriety, set your boundaries, walk in the blessings of clarity and remember there is a strength in saying no more, there is a freedom in knowing your worth and there is power in every step you take towards a life of freedom, sobriety and unwavering self-respect. The road to sobriety is not always easy, but it's always worth it. Stay the course, stay awesome, hold your boundaries and watch how the blessings begin to unfold. Thank you.
